Planet Ford Spring, in Texas has your 2011 Expedition. What will you do with yours in the Houston area?
While crossovers have become immensely popular over the last decade, full sized sport utility vehicles are still selling strong. The 2011 Expedition leads the pack with Ford’s bold design, functionality and the most comprehensive standard equipment list yet. Planet Ford Spring is excited to say that we have a full line of these vehicles ready to hit the Houston area.
Strong Body
The Expedition and Expedition EL (extended length) is built on Ford’s tough F-Series truck platform. This allows the full-sized Ford to excel in towing and off-road performance.
Towing Performance
With its 5.4 liter V-8 rated at 310 hp, the best-in-class Expedition can tow a hefty 9200 pounds, something crossovers can’t achieve. New for 2011, Ford has added Trailer Sway Control to the Expedition and Expedition EL. This remarkable standard feature works with the vehicle’s stability and roll-control systems to aid while towing.
Safety
Ford is serious about safety and the Expedition defines this. For the last 10 years the Ford Expedition has earned a perfect five-star front safety rating for the driver and passenger from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. And Ford has added even more safety features to the Expedition for 2011. Two notables are Ford’s SOS Post-Crash Alert System and MyKey. The SOS Alert System will activate the horn and emergency flashes if airbags deploy. MyKey is very helpful for concerned parents of teenage drivers. It allows them to program the key through the vehicle message center to place restrictions such as a limited top speed of 80 mph, traction control that cannot be deactivated and even limitation of audio system volume. Ford thought of everything.
Comfort
The Expedition has the room and entertainment to keep up to eight passengers happy. The newly available headrest-mounted DVD system has two individual screens and two sets of wireless head phones. Music is never an issue with SIRIUS® Satellite Radio and audio input jack. HD radio is available with the voice-activated navigation system.
What others are saying about the new Expedition:
- Built on the solid F-Series pickup chassis, the Expedition is a traditional full-size SUV that delivers quiet operation, a supple ride, and attractive interior décor.” — Car and Driver
- “The Expedition is an excellent vehicle for those who genuinely need the power and space of a large truck-type SUV.” — Consumer Guide
- “Simply beats a comparable [Chevrolet] Suburban at its own game.” — Motor Trend
- “Sure, you might want to think about something that uses less fuel if all you’re buying it for is getting to work and back, or picking up the kids from school and driving them to T-ball practice and gymnastics, but for those who need to tow or haul eight adults around, there’s no substitute for mass.” — Automobile
When only a big vehicle will do the job, the Ford Expedition is the best choice. You can find out more about the 2011 Expedition at Planet Ford Spring in the Houston area.
