Planet Ford in Spring, Texas and our team greatly enjoy helping our local community partners, including the Rotary Club of The Woodlands. This week’s meeting did not follow the typical meeting agenda. Instead, The Woodland Rotarians used their time to support STOP HUNGER NOW. Together, we packaged meals through a fun, hands-on assembly line process. When it was all said and done, nearly 10,000 meals had been assembled.
Each dehydrated meal is highly nutritious and comprises of rice, soy, vegetables, flavoring and essential vitamins and minerals. Each care package provides a reasonable serving for six and can be transport, stored and distributed to those in need.
STOP HUNGER NOW is a significant contributor in domestic and international disaster response efforts. The organization provides more than 5 million meals and 400 tons of aid to support the victims of the Haiti earthquake in 2010 and nearly 200,000 meals to victims of Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
What a great day for the Rotary Club of The Woodlands! It is an honor for Planet Ford on I-45 to be part of this club and support its efforts in our community.
