On May 3rd, Teacher Appreciation Day, Planet Ford had the honor or surprising two of Spring Independent School District educators with a brand new Ford vehicle and a Caribbean vacation during the district’s Employee Recognition Banquet. The awards were courtesy of Randall Reed and Planet Ford on I-45 in Spring, Texas (serving The Woodlands, Aldin, Cypress, Conroe, greater Houston area).
Shawn Burns, General Manager and Operating Partner of Planet Ford had the thrilling task of announcing that Chase Jones, of Twin Creeks Middle School, was the Secondary Teacher of the Year and winner of a brand-new Ford. “The look on his face when we announced his name was priceless,” said Mr. Burns. “We really enjoy being able to do this for our teachers and school district each year in a celebration of all they do for our kids and community each and every day.”
Mr. Burns also surprised Francis Bugarin, of McNabb Elementary, with an all-inclusive Carnival Cruise to the Caribbean for two, also provided by the Reed Family and Planet Ford. Mr. Bugarin was awarded Spring ISD’s Elementary Teacher of the Year award.
“All of our amazing teachers are at the heart of this community,” said Randall Reed, owner of World Class Automotive Group and Planet Ford. “Our educators not only teach, they mold lives of our children and have a profound impact on everyone’s future. With all they do, we’re thrilled to be able to recognize their outstanding efforts with the gift of a new Ford and dream getaway.”
The Spring ISD Employee Recognition Banquet was held May 3, 2016, at the Hilton North Houston at 12400 Greenspoint Drive in Houston, Texas. Spring ISD’s Teacher of the Year program recognizes outstanding educators for their passion and commitment to excellence in education. Each Spring ISD school selects their campus Teacher of the Year, who are invited to submit written materials to be considered as a finalist for the district’s Teacher of the Year. A selection committee chooses an Elementary and a Secondary Teacher of the Year to represent the district.
